Between Crimes, Monsters and Ghosts... the Hidden Edinburgh private guided tour

2h
A murder often starts with a whisper. A robbery, with the brief glimpse of a dagger, and a lie with a smirk most sly. Edinburgh is a city filled to the brim with secrets. Embark on a chilling journey through the cobbled streets and ancient closes of Edinburgh's Old Town, where history and horror converge to reveal the city's most terrible mysteries.
Tour Highlights:
Old Town's Royal Mile: Begin your exploration on the historic Royal Mile, the backbone of Edinburgh's Old Town. From a thief scamming his way into building the very safes he'll rob, to a prison where the head of a Marquis was left to rot above the entryway for 11 years. These old cobblestones are holding a spine-chilling history.
Views of Edinburgh Castle: A headless drummer, a body found hidden deep within its stone walls, and escapes from its prison ending in tragedy... behind the facade of the house of kings and queens lies a much darker reality.
Grassmarket: Nowadays, we know it for its pubs, but only 3 centuries ago this marketplace was the home of Edinburgh's favourite show: the hangings of criminals.
Greyfriars Kirkyard: Discover the dark history of grave robbers who prowled the ancient churchyards, seeking to profit from the dead. Delve into the tale of the infamous Burke and Hare, the notorious duo who committed ghastly murders to supply fresh corpses for medical experiments. Uncover the chilling stories of unsolved crimes and the truly terrifying creatures that lurked in the shadows—other human beings capable of unthinkable acts.
