Edinburgh ‘s Georgian and Romantic New Town private guided tour

2h30
Welcome to the dwellings of the Cape Club, a gathering of Scottish merchants whose motto was ”wealth, mirth and good fellowship”. In the 18th century, Edinburgh shed her medieval coat to become a city truly worth of the nickname “the Athens of the North”. What led the city to plan and build the area that has become the best preserved and largest example of 18th century Georgian architecture (as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site)? And most importantly: how would you plan the best possible party there?! During this tour, discover how the Georgians lived, between stunning palatial houses and the hustle and bustle of streets where servants and coachman lived. Learn about the secrets held behind closed doors, from drunken regency dandies cheating at cards to technological innovations which changed the world.
Tour Highlights:
